“It is imbued with a feeling of family love and sharing and packed with charming, fun illustrations.”

The State (Columbia, SC), 1999

“Anyone who has ever gone to the beach with their extended families will love The Pink House. The activities of [this family] are so universal you’ll find yourself thinking back to your own beach house – be it pink or tan or white.”

Anderson (SC) Independent-Mail, 1999

"Our copy is now worn from nightly reading. The Pink House is our son's favorite request at bedtime. The author spins a warm and loving tale of an extended family on a beach vacation. It teaches relationships of family members and the simple wonders of the beach. The hand sketches of the aunts and uncles in their bathing suits are delightful. Because it is so true to ideal beach vacations, I recommend this book to families with young children. We even tracked down the real house so our kids could have their picture made in front of the Pink House."

THE PINK HOUSE

The Pink House is an illustrated story of an extended family’s annual vacation to Edisto Beach, SC. The story, told by one of the young cousins, is a warm account of a single day when all the cousins, aunts, uncles, and even Grandma, come to the Pink House. They swim, go fishing with Uncle Jim, hunt for shark’s teeth with Aunt Margaret, sing songs with Aunt Kate, read books, eat the fish and crabs caught in the surf, play games – and then go to bed to await whatever surprises washed up by the surf the next morning.
