Mr. and Mrs. Palmer,
Yesterday, at the South Carolina State House over 2000 students gathered for the annual Read-In event to celebrate reading and literacy in our state. State Superintendent Molly Spearman was asked to give a brief address as well as read a few lines from a book of her choice. Growing up on a dairy farm in Saluda County, Molly has been very involved in 4-H and when she saw and read your book Hostie it hit close to home and has become one of her favorites. Needless to say, she read Hostie aloud to thousands of students, teachers, parents, legislators, and members of the press on the State House steps. We thought you all would enjoy the attached pictures.
