WELCOME TO WARBRANCH PRESS, INC.
New Santa book is out!!
Kate Salley Palmer has written a small picture book entitled I Know Santa Very Well!
The book was "crowd-funded using Kickstarter", with which we raised over $3800 from very generous contributors. Our daughter, Salley Ouellette, coordinated the fund-raising and reward structure for contributors, and Kate illustrated a poem she wrote several years ago about unconditional love.
This small book is beautifully illustrated and retails for only $6.95 - about what most people spend on a greeting card with "frills, bells, songs or whistles". It is our opinion that I Know Santa Very Well will be a Christmas treasure for folks of all ages. Get your autographed copy today by ordering from our website, or by going by any of the bookstores or gift shops than handle our books.
The year, 2013, has been an eventful one for Warbranch Press. We published, First South Carolinians, in May and I Know Santa Very Well in October. Both books have done very well in sales, and have both gotten good reviews. First South Carolinians is a picture book about our native people, and took us almost three years to publish due to the amount of research involved. Also, Kate had back and shoulder sugeries that took her out of commission for a year to 18 months. It was a book that the entire Palmer family helped produce, with Kate doing the research and most of the writing, James doing the beautiful illustrations, Jim helping organize Kate's research notes and Salley (and husband, Dave) helping with the editing process. Also, Electric City Printing and Terri Bunch were terrific partners in the final printing process of both books.
We also want to thank all our supporters of the Santa book's Kickstarter campaign for the tremendous financial assistance in getting the book out. We couldn't have done another book this year without their support. Also, Salley is to be commended for the excellent work she did in organizing and conducting the Kickstarter campaign.
We have an excellent team of people, both on the production and sales end, and we appreciate everyone. New sales outlets were obtained in 2013 and we look forward to getting more folks to handle our books in 2014. James has an idea for a new book for 2014, and the subject is the prehistoric animals of our state. He's excited about doing the research and getting the illustrations and stories just right for a 3rd grader, so stay tuned for more news on this new book as we move through the new year!
